Portsmouth boss Michael Appleton has confirmed Luke Varney is in talks with Leeds, while David Norris is also poised to join a Championship club.

LEEDS UNITED are lining up a move for Jamaican international midfielder Rodolph Austin.

Warnock has confirmed his interest in bringing SK Brann player Austin, 27 – voted as the best player in the Norwegian premier division in 2011 – to Elland Road, having previously had him on trial at former club QPR in January of last year.

The combative defensive midfielder, capped 45 times by the Reggae Boyz, will be out of contract in December and has refused to sign a new deal, with Brann’s asking price believed to be between £200,000 and £300,000.

Austin saw a move to Stoke City in 2008 fall through due to work permit issues.

Warnock said: “He’s a player I had at QPR. I had him over for a week and he’s a smashing lad. I’ve always liked him, but it’s always been a bit too much money.

“The last time I spoke to them, it was around the £2m mark. But his contract runs out in December and he’s one that we are looking at as well as several others.”

Tuhlaajapojan paluu!!!!

The veteran manager has confirmed that much-travelled striker Andy Gray, 34, has been handed a chance to prove himself in the first two weeks of pre-season and if he does sufficiently well, he isn’t ruling out a permanent deal being reached.

Gray, who spent a spell under Warnock at Bramall Lane and who started his career at Leeds, is without a club after leaving Barnsley, with Bradford City keen to sign him.

Given Warnock’s predilection for a big striking pool, with the sight of forwards packing out his bench a common one during his glory years at the Blades, a move for Gray is a real possibility. Although Warnock has made no promises to Gray, who also fully knows the score.

Warnock added: “Andy asked me if he could come training. I have known him since I was at Sheffield United and I’ve just said ‘Come and have a couple of weeks with us and we’ll see how it goes’.

“There have been no promises, nothing at all. But he’s a great lad and it won’t do any harm whatever happens. I’ve said to him ‘If we don’t take you on board, you’ll be fully fit’. Although Andy does look after himself, he’s a great professional.

Sky Sports understands former Coventry City defender Martin Cranie is training with Leeds United.

Cranie is available on a free transfer after seeing out his contract at Coventry earlier this summer.

Coventry were keen on keeping hold of the left-back, but Cranie turned down the offer of a new deal following the club's relegation to League One.

The former Southampton youngster is keen to fix himself up with a new club and has accepted Leeds' offer to join them for pre-season training.

Leeds boss Neil Warnock could be in the market for a new left-back and if former England Under 21 international Cranie impresses during training he could be offered a deal at Elland Road.

Ei näissä siirroissa näy mielestäni ainakaan Bahrainin taalat... kovin tuntuu hepposilta valinnoilta, lähinnä katsottu että halvalla saa.
Kovin tuntemattomia nimiä ollut haavissa..

Kovasti tuntuu kahden putoajajoukkueen -Coventryn ja Pompeyn- pelaajat kiinnostavan.Näilläkö noustaan?

BOLTON WANDERERS have made a renewed move to sign Leeds United keeper Andy Lonergan, although they may have to fend off rival late interest to secure his signing.
A deal in the region of £200,000 is being mooted, with Bolton boss Owen Coyle keen to land Lonergan before the club head off to Scotland for a pre-season tour on Tuesday.

Paddy Kenny muuten siirtyi jo neljännen kerran Warnockin joukkueeseen. Voisiko jo puhua luottomiehestä?

Tää ei ole hauska uutinen...

Norwich City have made a fresh bid for Leeds winger Robert Snodgrass, Sky Sports understands.

The Canaries first tried to sign the Scotland international last summer, but their approaches were turned down by Leeds.

And despite a change of manager, with Chris Hughton now in charge at Carrow Road, their interest in Snodgrass has remained.

They have made a fresh bid for the 24-year-old, and Sky Sports understands Norwich have tabled two offers in the last week for the Scot.

With Paul Lambert, who is now at Aston Villa, among a host of confirmed admirers in the Premier League, Norwich will be hopeful they can strike a quick deal to land the in-demand Scot.

Snodgrass has just one year left on his current deal at Elland Road, having failed to agree a new contract with the West Yorkshire outfit.

...mutta johtaisiko se tähän..??

LEEDS UNITED midfield target Rodolph Austin has admitted he’d love to come to Elland Road - if the club can agree terms with SK Brann.

The Jamaican international played for Brann in Sunday’s 6-2 win over Odd Grenland, which saw him score a fine long-range strike.

Speaking about his future to Norweigan reporters after the match, Austin said: “I am 27 years now, and I think the timing is right. But it is between the clubs. If I can go to Leeds, thats something I would like.

“I dont know if this was my last game here, but if it was then it was a perfect way to finish”.

United have already seen a bid of £200,000 rejected for Austin, but are expected to come back in with an improved offer.

Samaa ei voisi mielestäni maksaa kuitenkaan minkä Snoddystä saisi...!!!

Rodolph Austinilla on vaikuttava kausi Norjassa. 11 matsia, 5 keltaista ja yksi punainen. No taklaus ainakin pitäisi riittävän kova.

Ellei pelaajan nimi satu olemaan Messi..

SK Brann have told Rodolph Austin that he will have a decision on his future before the end of this week as Leeds United work to tie up the signing of the Jamaican midfielder.

Austin is pushing for permission to begin discussions with Leeds after expressing his desire to join the Championship club, and United manager Neil Warnock is hopeful that a deal will be finalised in the next seven days.

Brann have rejected an initial offer from Elland Road, believed to be in the region of £200,000, but will sell the midfielder if Leeds return with a bid which meets their valuation.

The Norwegian side are keen for Austin to remain with them until after their league match against Aalesund on Sunday but sources in Bergen expect Austin’s future to be resolved in the next 72 hours.

Austin has twice come close to securing a deal in English football, missing out on a move to Stoke City due to a failed work permit application and denied the chance to join Warnock at Queens Park Rangers in January of last year.

Brann rejected QPR’s offer and have so far held firm in negotiations with Leeds, despite a belief that the club are resigned to losing Austin.

Warnock said: “I don’t think there’s anything agreed but we’re in conversations. I’m hoping we can tie a deal up and get him as soon as possible in the early part of next week.”

Austin’s arrival at Leeds would strengthen a midfield weakened by the sale of Adam Clayton to Huddersfield Town but Warnock has revealed that Michael Brown is poised to take up a new one-year deal at Elland Road having reached the end of his previous contract last month.

Tarinan mukaan Brownkin jatkaisi sopimustaan vuodella joten päästäneen aloittamaan sarja väh. 11:llä miehellä...

Leeds United were weighing up an increased bid from Norwich City for Robert Snodgrass today amid growing doubts about the future of the Scotland international.

Kun ei leikki-sheikki tai mikä lie feikki-sheikki saa kauppaa syntymään, niin tää on pelkona..
