Standstill Agreement Extended for Leeds
01/30/2004. Leeds United have had the 'standstill' agreement with their creditors extended by another week until 6 February.
The Yorkshire club, bottom of the Premiership with debts of around £100 million, had been given until 5pm on Friday to produce evidence that they could raise £5 million to avoid going into administration.
The Leeds players this week agreed to a wage deferral of some 25%, believed to be worth around £2.5 million. The club were also forwarded a £1.5 million payment by Manchester United in full and final settlement of the transfer fee due for Rio Ferdinand.

Aikaa on tullut perjantaihin klo 17 asti lisää.. Rahaa on jo tullut jonkin verran Ferdinantista eli £1.5M ja palkoista £2.5M kun palkkoja laskettiin 25%, mutta vielä uupuisi £1M..
Tuo £1M voitaisiin saada esim.

Boro In Talks For Viduka
Viduka targeted by Boro
01/31/2004. Middlesbrough have launched a late bid to sign Mark Viduka from Leeds.
The Elland Road club have frequently insisted they are not interested in selling any players before the transfer deadline. ;D However, a reported £3m offer for their troubled Australian striker may be too good to turn down, as the money would ensure Leeds' immediate future.
McClaren told the Middlesbrough website: "He's one player I've been interested in since I've been here.
"But with the situation at Leeds it's going to be difficult to do something so we'll have to wait and see."
A complication for Boro will be that Viduka is currently in Australia to be with his seriously ill father.

Viduka on muuten nyt Australiassa ??? isäänsä hoitamassa. Tämä hankaloittaa myös Boron tarjouksen tekemistä.. Toivottavasti siirtoikkuna menee kiinni ja vauhdilla, ettei Viduka pelaa loppukautta Borossa.
